Forestry, reports that now is the tfme for landowners in Rappahannock County to order trees for spring planting to reforest cutover and abandoned open land. The State nurseries can provide planting stock of the following species: loblolly pine, shortleaf pine, Virginia pine, white pine, black locust, black walnut, yellow poplar, green ash, red cedar. Tree costs vary from $6.00 to $15.00 per thousand seedlings depending on the species of tree. These prices include delivery to the landowner or a designated planting site. The

The second semester of Adult lasic Education classes in Warren i ind Rappahannock Counties is tow in progress. This is the third ! rear that this program has been in ipe ration in both counties. The Adult Basic Education )rogram’s aim is to better prepare ndividuals to meet the demands >f a complex and changing society. Especially designed naterials are used to instruct ndividuals'who are eighteen years ild or older and did not go jeyond the eighth grade in reading, writing, and arithmetic, rhere is no charge to adult itudent and work materials of the programmed learning type are provided for the students for use it home. Students may enroll in the classes at any time during the year. This program is the best opportunity ever offered for ielf-improvement in this area. Mr. Robert Long, Supervisor, earnestly solicits t$e support and cooperation of all citizens of Warren and Rappahannock Counties by encouraging those idults who can profit from such a program to enroll in the Adult Basic Education class in their county. The instructors for Warren County are Mr. Roland Canada ind Mr. John Ford, with the classes meeting on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7-9:30 p.m. at Warren County High School. Mrs. Charlotte Nicholls Is the Instructor for Rappahannock County and the class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9:30 at Rappahannock County High School.
