James P. Cook
' Funeral serviced for James Philip Cook, 82, of Flint Hill were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Flint Hill United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jerry Campbell. Interment was in the Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cook died on March 1, 1970, In Warren Memorial Hospital In Front Royal.
He was bom in Nelson County, a son of the late Robert Hudson and Emily Fox Cook. His wife, Mrs. Ruth Eastham Cook, died December 31,1969.
He is survived by four sons, James W. of Norfolk; Robert E. of Front Royal; the Rev. Marvin C. of Berryville; and Wilmer B. Cook of Newport News; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret C. Roberson of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mrs. Evelyn C. Walker of Falls Church; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a brother, John Cook of Christiansburg. Pallbearers were Emory Russell, Wallace Russell, Robert Clatterbuck, James Day, Braxton Coppage, James Cook, Doug Walker and William Bowersett. Robertshaw-Turner Funeral Home of Front Royal was in charge of arrangements.
Roy G. Coates
Roy G. Coates, 66, a retired mechanic, died February 24, 1970, in Moore8town, N. J. Mr. Coates was born in Rappahannock County, a son of the late Charles W. and Nellie Compton Coates. Funeral services and burial was conducted on February 27 at 2 p.m. by the Lankenau Funeral Home of Riverside, N. J. He is survived by his wife Laura and two stepsons Gene and El wood Simmons; the following sisters, Mrs. A. M. Vemer, Washington, Va., Mrs. Frank Binford and Mrs. John J. Baker of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Mrs. James B. Wood of Spotsylvania; and one brother, James Edward Coates of Roanoke.
