Sgt. Mack V. Dodson is spending a furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Dodson in Sperryville on his return from Ramstien, Germany where he spent a three year tour of duty. He will leave March 10 to report to David Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona.
U. S. Air Force Airman First Class Cleve D. Dennis, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Dennis, Washington, Va., has arrived for duty at Peterson Field, Colo. ''Airman Dennis, is a vehicle operator specialist, assigned to the 4600th Transportation Squadron, a unit of the Aerospace Defense Command which protects the U. S. against hostile aircraft 'and missiles. He previously served in Thailand. The airman is a 1967 graduate of Rappahannock County High School. His wife is the former Katherine L. Daise.
Celebrates Birthday
Billy Shaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shaw of Amissville, celebrated his fourth birthday Saturday, February 28, with a birthday party at his home. Friends present for the party were Kim and Rachsel Shaw, Penny Taylor and Michael Richards, all of Culpeper; Charles Sutphin, Jr. of Washington and Dean Hitt, Amissville. Also attending were Billy’s grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Shaw and a friend Sue Richards of Culpeper.
Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer was hostess to the Sperryville Bridge Club on Friday night. Her guests included Mrs. Mary M. Quaintance, Mrs. W. H. Gordie, Mrs. T. J. Pillar, Mrs. Carroll Quaintance, Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., Mrs. Brown Miller, Mrs. Roy L. Reeve, Mrs. E. A. McNear, Mrs. Cosie Sullivan, Mrs. Edward Haggerty, Mrs. Elmo Flynt and Mrs. R. E. Thompsen. Prizes were given to Mrs. Cordle, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Flynt.
