“IT MAY WELL BE the most gruelling hurdle race in the country,” says Oliver Durant 11, speaking of the latest addition to the Rappahannock race program, the hurdle race. There will be nine hurdles and the trip around the course is about a mile and a half.
“It was laid out and built with the spectators in mind,” explained Durant, who is-chairman of the race committee. “Each fence is plainly visible from every spectator area.”
