Last but not least is the traditional and popular hound race. More than 50 hounds are expected to follow the scent this year and their owners will be at the finish line trying to catch them, after the first go-round, they hope. The race is open to hound owners in the Rappahannock Hunt territory and or members of Northern Virginia Foxhunters Association.. No recognized hunt club hounds are eligible.
Eight races in all are carded for the 23rd running of the Rappahannock Hunt Point-to-Point Race^on the scenic Thornton Hill course of James W. Fletcher’s, scheduled for Saturday, March 4, at,noon. The race course is located on Route 522 a mile and a half south of Sperryville. □
