OBITUARIES
Woodward
William Jackson Woodward, 80, of Sperryville died at his residence Friday, February 18, after a period of declining health.
He was a retired farmer, the son of the late James Woodward and Mollie Dodson Woodward of Rappahannock County. His wife was the late Minnie Clatterbuck Woodward.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Jenkins of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Sarah Davis of West Chester, Pa. and Mrs. Dorothy Frye, Sperryville; eight sons, Edward Woodward, Norfolk, James Robert of Germantown, Md., Floyd of Ocala, Fla., Conrad and Ernest of Luray, Clifford of Front Royal, Mackwell of Orange and Silas Woodward of Maryland.
He leaves one sister, Mrs. Louella Leake of Orange; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted Tuesday from the Sperryville Assembly of God Church with the service conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Ethel Harrington. Burial was in the Woodward section of Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Eubank, Gorell Leake, Charlie James, Ronnie and Rodney Leake. □
