WHAT’S WRONG? Is everybody’s memory so short or span of attention so severely limited that they’ve forgotten what the clean up drive was all about, or found that it’s just too boring to bother with?
It would be different if we lived in, say, Bayonne, N. J., or some other horrible example of urban and industrial blight. It might even be different if Rappahannock County were situated in the middle of a desert — although true nature - lovers can appreciate the beauty of a desert as well as they can enjoy the delights of an oasis.
But the Rappahannock County we’re talking about is a beautiful, green, lush scene of breathtaking mountains, endless views, teeming wildlife and handsome and historic houses and towns.
WHY WOULD ANYONE want to toss a beer can into that scene?
