Budget hearing
set for June 7
A COUNTY budget totalling $1,217,664 has been proposed for adoption by the Rapp&hannock County Board of Supervisors for the fiscal year 1973-74. A hearing on this is set for June 7 in connection with the regular June meeting of Xhe local legislators. The budget is an increase over the previous year of $99,924 and while most categories show an increase, the Department of Welfare shows a decrease in funding. As is usual, schools command the largest protion of the tax dollar, with $876,665 allocated in this area. Costs of instruction, administration, transportation and other all show an increase. A carryover of $54,417 will aid 'in maintaining the same levy of $4.10 per hendred valuation and avoid an increase.
The budget hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. in the courthouse at Washington on June 7. □
