“THE FOOL HAS SAID, ‘There is no God.’ ” I have this friend who claims to be an atheist. Atheist? Just a pretense. Fool? No, he is wiser than I; of course that alone doesn’t place him completely out of that category.
After coming down off Hazel Mountain this friend said to me: “Si, you are closer to God on the mountains than anywhere else you will ever be,” I replied: “God will reach down to you wherever you are, if you will reach up to Him. He knows no boundaries.” He likes to argue; he would argue with a fence post, and stubborn as a blue-nose mule. I drought I was winning one of our arguments, but my 4ear one quoted an old cliche: “Win an argument and lose a friend.” Well, I didn’t want to jeopardize a friendship so I shut up.
