A TWO-VEHICLE collision on Route 707 near Slate Mills May 18 injured three persons. A 68 Chevrolet owned and operated by Wayne Leake of Culpeper and a 73 Ford owned and operated by Florine Fincham, also of Culpeper, were involved.
Leake applied his brakes on a slight curve on the wet road, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin, and skidded into the left lane, striking the Fincham car head-on.
Florine Fincham suffered abrasions and contusions of the arms and hips and possible internal injury. Mrs. Fanny Sisk, a passenger in the Fincham car, sustained a broken nose and face lacerations, and was taken to the University of Virginia Hospital. Wayne Leake had lacerations and contusions of the face.
Leake was cited for reckless driving, said the officer. Damage was estimated at $1000 to Leake’s car and $2000 to the Fincham vehicle.□
