announcements in this third tooting of the Bicentennial Bugle is this: The initial activity which opens Rappahannock’s year-long observance of our nation’s two-hundredth birthday will be a gathering, come 3 p.m., at the Rappahannock County Library in Washington, Va., on Sunday, January 25. Tea (to commemorate a certain party) and other refreshments will be at hand as the program for the year is unfolded.”
This date, a change from the third Sunday originally trilled on the Bugle October 30 will give those who, for the occasion, are working on costumes redolent of the 1770’s a little more time for the inevitable finishing touches which even a Betsy Ross knew all about.
Second momentous announcement (hear Ye): The tickets to the Rappahannock Bicentennial Pageant, “Let Freedom Ring” at Montpelier, (you know where that is? on the Madison Road, five miles south of Sperryville) on June 12, have come from the printer in colorful array.
