A two-vehicle collision occurred Sunday at the intersection of Routes 231 and 522 about 5:20 p.m. Involved was Freddie Jackson Of Sperryville operating a 68 Ford and Earl Smith of Syria in a 67 Chevrolet.
According to Trooper J.A. Watson, Smith turned from Route 522 onto the F.T. Valley road (231) and struck the Jackson car. Damage was estimated at $400 to Smith and $500 to Jackson. Smith was cited for defective equipment, reckless driving, driving while intoxicated and refusal to take a blood test, said the officer.
