Condemnation Awards

total $139,475

Two VEPCO condemnation cases were heard last week in Rappahannock County Circuit Court when a total of $139,475 in easement and damage fees were allowed by a five-man commission.

Jordan Joint Ventures a conglomerate of four parties was awarded $975 for property value for 0.75 acre and damage to the remaining property was set at $43, 500. This property is located in Wakefield.

The commission was composed of Ted Triplett, Gibson Whorton and Edward Bailey, all of whom signed the award and Patterson Biggs and Joe Williams who did not.

The second case was that of Paul and Joan St. Clair of Amissville. Value of the property was established as $6,000 and damages set at $89,000. All of the commission signed the order.□
