An art show for area students was held at Wakefield Country Day School Saturday, April 23, in celebration of the opening and dedication of the school’s new garden. In affltion to Wakefield, schools participating in the show included Powhatan School, Boyce; Highland School, Warrenton; and Grymes Memorial School, Orange. There were also individual entries from the Rappahannock Elementary School and from Warren County High School.
First place winners were: painting and drawing (primary), Conway Upshur, Grymes Memorial; painting and drawing (intermediate), Kay Smithurst, Grymes Memorial; painting and drawing (advanced), Tara Labovitz, Wakefield; sculpture, Alex Iden, Powhatan; and photography, William Warshauer, Wakefield.
