This popular program — which includes courses in medical billing and coding, collections, medical terminology and medical workflow — has trained many students who are now working in medical offices.
• Certified nurse aide. This fourmonth program prepares students for the Virginia State licensure, which will enable them to work in nursing homes, hospitals and private facilities as nurse aides.
• Advanced cosmetology. This is a program for licensed cosmetologists that will enable them to increase their skills in such areas as coloring and cutting techniques, hair care for people with special needs, makeup and salon management.
• Workplace essential skills. In addition to receiving training in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), students will learn other essential skills needed in the workplace such as customer service, professional business writing and team dynamics.
