(NAPSI) — Whether you’re looking for a career change or your first real job, a few tips could help you go far.
To help, Wendy Straker, author of “Sexy Jobs in the City,” and “Apprentice” finalist Kendra Todd partnered with Dove, the global beauty brand, to launch the Find Your Dream Job college program, which guides young women toward finding their dream job, using the rules of dating.
Straker says going on a job interview is a little like getting ready for a date. She shares four easy tips — from courting your dream career to sealing the deal — for your dream job:
1. Get people to set you up. It’s not just what you know, but who you know. As in dating, your friends or family may be able to “set you up” with the perfect employer — don’t be afraid to ask.
2. Dress the part. Know the style of the company with which you’re interviewing and tailor your look to match. An interview at a children’s television network, for instance, needs a different look from one at a news magazine.
3. The thrill of the chase. Go about the job search like you would go about a date. Though you don’t want to play too hard to get (let them know you are interested), you should close the interview leaving your potential employer wanting more
