Holland grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia. Fascinated with writing since high school he has found time to pen poems and short stories as well as to dabble in music and visual arts. Holland made his carver as an air traffic controller and came to Virginia in 1983 when he was transferred to Dulles Airport.
Holland and his wife. Sherrie, bought their first property in Rappahannock in 1999 and still five in their charming Chester Gap log cabin.
