On behalf of the teachers, students, and parent chaperons, Dr. Robert Chappell, Superintendent of the Rappahannock County Public Schools <RCPS), thanks the Chateauville Foundation tor its generosity. The tbundation offered the schools tree tickets to attend "An Evening with Mamn Hamlisch.” the Oct. 10 Castleton Festival Inaugural Benefit Concert, at the John F. Ketuiedy Center for the Performing Arts ui Washington, D. C.
Elementary schoolteachers, Ben Beasley (Director of Bands, Rappahannock County Elementary School (RCES) and Ldo Wolfe (Gifted Education Specialists, organized and led the trtp.
About 52 students bin the elementary school and high school • grades 5 through 12), accompanied by teachers (among whom was Joy Rollins, RCES music teacher> and chaperons • including Sara Kleppmger* traveled via school bus to the Kewiedy Center. They all dressed up for an exciting evening.
When they arrived and walked through the budding, everyone was in awe of the sights that they encountered. The Kennedy Center is an extraordinarily beautiful building with spectacular views, both inside and out.
Hannah Bennett of Castleton was one of the students who attended. Here is what she shared:
“It was very beautiful. Also, when it was tune to enter the theater, the lights on the celling were tlashuig ui rhythm to a little dinging noise. When you go outside on the back deck, you have a great view of the Potomac •'River Marvin Hamlisch had an amaztng performance when he was playing the piano. It was a great opportunity for everyone who went"
