Joyce Wharton’s fourth
grade students at Rappahannock County Elementary School have been writing persuasive essays from the point-of view of the turkey for five years.
Wharton is always amazed at how imaginative and creative her students can write. Their task is to persuade Wharton as well as Margie Southard, Title 1 instructor, not to have turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner.
Southard, who judged the writing contest this year, said, “It was a difficult choice to make.” However, she said, she w£is able to choose four winners.
Congratulations to all of the students on a job well done.
