The “Shop with a Deputy5* program selects children from families with little or no money to spend on their children for Christmas and pairs them with a deputy for a holiday shopping excursion.
The children selected meet at the Sheriff*s Office and ride with a deputy to Front Royal to pick out whatever they need, including clothing, toys and food. The children can even select gifts to give to other family members.
After shopping, the children will eat breakfast and visit with Santa Clause.
Both the DSS and the Sheriff's office are appealing for donations, whether that be in food - frozen turkeys are high on the list - or cash.
