Richmond Guests Mr. and Mrs. Grover Lawrence and Mr. and Mrs. “Mike'' Si monds. of Richmond, spent the Christmas holidays m the home of Mr. and Mrs. .1. D. Lawrence. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kanes and children, of Richmond, spent the holidays in the home of Mr. Lanes' parents. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lanes. The Rev. and Mrs. H. L. Crate and children, of Bloxom. and Mr and Mrs. J. M. Deeds and children, of Durham. N. C.. spent the holidays with Misses Ester and Alma Whittington and other relatives in the community Mr. and Mrs. R. B Denny and Mr. and Mrs. Mallory Denny were sapper guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J E. Dodson, Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kerr and children were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mr s A T. Kerr, of Clayville. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Gunter an<^ children spent ihe week end with 1 datives in Newport News. Christmas Party Mattoax Home Demonstration Club had a Christmas Patty. Thursday night. Dec. 13. in the home of Mrs. R. F. Saunders. The rooms were festive in their deco lations of holly and evergreens, with a beautifully lighted tree. The party began with the Christ mas Story, followed by carols. “Winter Wonderland," was sung and Alice Bowlin. Then, games by Nancy and Sandia Saunders and contests were participated in until time for the exchange of gifts by the club members, which proved to be an exciting and happy time for all. Refreshments consisting of cookies, home-made candy, and punch were served. Everyone iiad a good time and left with the n a. Christmas spirit. Mr. and Mrs. Roy maunders en tertained a group cl friends for old times sake. Sam day night, Dec 27, at their home. The home was decorated with greens and candles, and a color scheme of red and green was carried out in the »cfreshments. Games and contests were enjoy ed. also group singing of Christ mas carols and old time songs. Later, the group went into the dining room, where ice cream, cake, and coffee were served.
