Perhaps the printer! of Rappahannock'S county .paper- should just re-print last week’s., issue! From all reports there seem to hare been more errors tnan any* -thins else. Please accept the most humble apology offered here and now—and let this one stand for all future errors: We don’t like to make mistakes any better than you do. We distinctly dislike them, in fact. But we are human, and we’re bound to make mistakes. On one fact you may rest assured: we never make them intentionally, and we never mean any harm. We Just blunder along —only sometimes we seem more careless (or ignozfrnt) than at others.
Correction No. 1. Mias Sollenberyer’s name was omitted from the list of ladies who helped with the redecorating of the office of the Judge at the Courthouse. She a* ould have been listed along with 'Mrs. Robert Maasie, Miss Ruby Jenkins, Miss Ruth Stevens, Mrs. Paul Thompson, and Mrs. Raynor Snead. Of course, the names of James M. Settle and W. Curtis Campbell ae members of the furniture committee were omitted, too, but they arc merely mail and in the now-widely-publicised '^She-Town” that makes^them of little importance, except, perhaps, in some small disagreeable job Ukc purchasing the new furniture and putting it in place. • (That takes ears of that. The printers feel pretty safe on that correction. Miss SoUeaberger is Very good-natured, and we’re not" afraid of; her- . -much—cad, of course, the men in Washington by now art so cowed there’s no need to fear them.)
Correction No. 2. (Look out! This on* might be daageronat)
The Ladies of the Town Council state that the meeting last week was imported wrong. All the members were not present, ii the paper asld, for Mrs. J. W. Critser was unable to attend. In addition to this orror, tho paper stated that “the council voted . ►' . that, anyona applying for Such a license (A.B.C.) would, moot no opposition from tho town.’’ That was all wrong. The -editor is glad te print the Mayor's letter- explaining- the- error - made by tite paper._... ______
This paper makes no such statement at saying we artnt afraid of those women. We are. Bnt we shall try in the future to report more carefully and try to understand better what is going on in the council meetings. We are not intimidated, however; we are going to keep on trying Mid maybe one of these days, the council . meeting will be reported correctly in the county paper.
