By Jan at Sollanberger . Slate Mills H.D. club will mee^ at the home of Mrs. L. R. Hudson, January 30, at 10 a.m. This will be an all day meeting. The demonstration will be on "Hammering Trays." Bach member is aaked to bring a covered dish.
Castleton H.D. club will meet January 31, at 10 a.m., with Mrs. John T. Woodard^ This meeting had to be postponed because of the lack of sufficient metal to work on. . The meeting will last ill dey. and each member is asked to bring a covered dish.
Reager 4-H club will meet at the school February 1, 10 a.m.
Washington No. 2 4-H club wiil meet at the school February 1, 2:30 p.m.
Sperryville Ho. 2 4-H club will meet at the school, February 2, 11 a.m.
Amissville 4-H club will meet at the school, February 2, 2 p.m. ‘ Mt. Salem H.D. dub met last week at the home of, Mrs. Ada Mae Anderson. A demonstration was given to the group on how to braid and crochet rugs. These rug* can be made so easily and inexpensively. Old cotton and woolen clothing and old material which most people have on hand can be worked up into a lovely rug. The hostess served very delightful refreshments. ‘ X
Miss Ruth SteVeju wee hostess to the Flint Hill Hi), club day, January Id. The meeting started , at 7 p.m. and by 2:80 ■ about -*27 trays had been completed. Each one of the trays was very lovely. Mrs. Barbara Gentry served the club some very delicious salad, crackers and coffee. Everyone agreed the salad was most tasty and, I believe, before Mrs. Gentry left the meeting she had been asked for the recipe several times. The business part of , the meeting was held after the trays were completed. The club decided to give |2 toward the dental clinic.
The F. T. Valley No. 2 H.D; club held a grand all day meeting January 18. Everybody agreed it was one of the best meetings we’ve ever had. Around ten trays were completed at the meeting. Mf jbe you’d like to know some of the food we had to eat: potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, ham, chicken, pickle, lettuce, rolls, ice cream, cake, cookies, and many other delicious dishes. Needless to say, we all were, filled to the brim when we finished the meal. A short business meeting, was held at the conclusion of the meeting. The club decided to hold a food sale in February and go on the radio in April. ,
The Sperryville H.D. club held a meeting at the Baptist church on January 18. Quite a large number were present, and some very lovely.trays were hammered, eight trays, to be exact. This club decided to take as their demonstration for February "candy making" and to meet at the home of Mrs. -George Brown.
