The Lady’s Done It Again

Her Honor, the Mayor of Washington, Mrs. Davis, has got herself into public print, the public eye, and the public ear, again. She’s gonna bake a cherry pie, billy-boy. _

■She surely let a golden opportunity slip by when she said “cherry pie.” Why didn’t she offer to bake the President an apple pie _made from the best apples in the world, Rappahanonck apples-— and give the President a real pie worth eating? President Truman probably has never had the privilege of eating a real apple pie, made of real Rappahannock apples, and he should be given the honor.

With the story going over the 11 o’clock news radio report at Height, it would have carried the name of Rappahannock apples over the 48 states. Publicity like that can’t be bought, and it would have been a good chance to help sell Rappahannock apples and spread their fame.

Perhaps next time Her Honor, the Mayor, will remember to turn some of her publicity toward the county's products and help the local business man.
