When the meeting of the Northern Virginia Federation of New Farmers of America was called to order on January 31, 1951, the 0. R* Johnson Chapter was represented by a delegation of twelve strong. __
The meeting was held at the Rosenwald High School in Warrenton, Virginia. The Milton Valley Chapter of Berryville was represented and the W. C. Taylor Chapter of Rosenwald High, who served as Hbst, also had ample delegation. After listening to an inspiring opening ceremony by the officers of the Federation, which seemed to have stimulated the heart and mind of each delegate, we moved without hesitating into the election of officers for the coming year. Knowing that it is the contest that delights us and1 not the victory, it seemed as though each delegate went through daring efforts to make the election of officers a steaming' contest.
The officers elected from the O. R. Johnson Chapter were: vicepresident, David Reid; secretary, ISolomon Williams; reporter, * Eugene Ferguson; historian,_ Charles Lewis; song leader, John Dales.
These newly elected officers realize that every person is responsible for all the good withiii the scope of his abilities; they also realize that the winds and waves are always on the side of thet ablest navigators. Knowing that they have the ability of leadership, we are counting on them to do their utmost in helping to make the Northern Virginia Federation “The Federation.” —William Arrington, Reporter.
