Mrs. Roberta K. Massie appeared before the board and asked, the board members for a list of erroneous tax assessments. She had been told, she said, that board members knew of such, and it was her desire to get this list as soon as possible so they could be corrected in 1952.
Herbert Foster of Flint Hill, •peaking for Foster Brothers, stated that he had been told his tax declaration was in error and he asked that some explanation be given him why this statement was
_Another citizen present asked who would pay the costs of this appeal. When informed that thecounty would have to pay the bill, he wanted to know if Mrs. Mas■ie’s attorney fees could be paid by the county. He thought that, since the Commissioner of Revenue was'elected by the people and the Board of Supervisors was elected by the people, there was no reason why one should have attorneys furnished by the county and the other have to pay attorney’s fees. There was no answer to the gentleman’s question. Highway Question Discussed Z Rev* R. H. Scroggins appeared before the * board asking that a piece of road, abandoned by the highway department in 1947, be kept in repair and a bridge replaced. Resident Engineer Richard Worthington explained that j such a situation must go through the regular procedure of having a road put on the secondary system. This road leads to the ReV.
