In the hustle and bustle, of celebrating famous birthdays in February—Lincoln’s and Washington’s— too little attention is given to February 11, the birthday of Thomas A. Edison.
It has been stated that probably no one man has had as much effect upon our everyday living as Edison- “The Man Who Inventeed Everything,” as Edison gets named, gave to us the modern telephone (don’t jump down my throat, I’ve heard of Alexander Graham Bell, too, but I can explain); moviees,
trie lights, electric motors, storage batteries, and plastics! That’s some , list—in anybody’s language!
Bell’s early teelphone used the “receiver” for both talking and listening.
