In Tournament

The Rappahannock County High. School boys finished second in the Western Division of the District “G” Basketball League by defeating Lincoln High School 52-45 last Wednesday afternoon at the Warreriton High Schdol gymnasium. William Armentrout was the leading scorer for the Panthers with 18 points.

Defeating Lincoln enabled the Panthers to participate in the District “G” tournament at Manassas. In the first session of the tournament, which was held Friday afternoon, the Rappahannock boys were defeated 44-20 by Herndon High School. The Panthers played; the 1950-51 state champions on even teams'until late in the fourth quarter at which time the defending champs scored 10 points in 3 ■minutes to win by a safe margin. William Armentrout was the game’s leading scorer with 15 points, while Dick Detwiler, Oft. Oinch center, was high for Herndon with 13 points. ■ T f —* Saturday afternoon the * Panthers defeated Leesburg 42-37 to take third place in the tournament.
