AUXILIARY ENTERTAINS / FIREMEN AT BANQUET The Ladies Auxiliary to the Rapr pahannock Volunteer Fire Company “ held its annual banquet for the firemen on Friday, February 22, in the Town Hall at Washington.

The auxiliary presented a check for $500 to' T.G. Lea* treasurer of ' the fire company, as a contribution to the support of the fire company for the coming year. Participating in the program for the entertainment of the guests were Mr. W. E. Compton, F. Clyde Baggarly as toastmaster, Ralph Rowrie, Mrs. R. L. Massie, Mrs. Rayner V. Snead, Mrs. Barbara Gentry, and Mrs. G W Smith, Jr. —The banquet was deliciously prepared and served (as usual) and flowers sent by Culpeper Florist and Fussell Florist in Front Royal decorated the banquet tables.

MARY LOU CAMPBELL WINS DISTRICT CLUB AWARD

Announcement has been received - that Mary Lou Campbell pf Reager 4-H club placed third in the district 4-H canning contest, 112-4-H club.. Girls in 42 counties of the state entered the 12 home economics district contests.

During the past two years Mary Lou Campbell has canned, alone, 81 jars and has helped to can 37 jars. She has prepared for freezing 65 packages and helped to prepare 450 packages. ' -

At the Culpeper Area Contest, Mary Lou Campbell demonstrated canning quartered apples.
