It’s TimeTo Show

Some Appreciation

At the Fireman’s Banquet on Friday night, the ladies of the auxiliary presented the Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Company with a check for $500- That’s a lot of money in anybody’s language, and it’s a lot of money when it has to be raised —dollar, dime, and penny—by benefits, parties, dances, and bake sales.

The ladies are to be congratulated. The members of the fire company have expreessd their appreciation, but now is the time for a little more substantial exhibition of appreciation. The ladies of the auxiliary sponsor square dances at the high school building to help raise funds for the fire company. At several of the dances recently they have had a little trouble with a youngster or two. who will forget to bring his best manners to the dance. It's embarrassing to the ladies to have to deal with this public display of bad manners, and the presence of several of the firemen would help. The men could step in quietly and tell the youngsters that either their manners would have to improve or they would have to leave the dance floor. The ladies of the auxiliary are giving a square dance Friday, Mar. 7 and the presence of several of the firemen would show that the men of the fire company appreciate the work, time, and effort put forth by the members of the auxiliary. ^
