It is a shallow rooted plant and eannotv survive planting too deeply or ^digging around the roots. Over fertilization may call for excessive pruning to keep the plants within bounds. Pruning boxwood is a necessary and important operation. The best time for pruning is just before" growth starts in the spring. Start by removing (weak and crowded branches from the top center of the plant. Where necessary, shorten the larger branches. Continue this thinning of branches over entire upper half of plant. This operation will keep plant at the desired Size. In dwarf plants, remove all -dead leaves that have fallen into the branches. Allow light and ah to . reach all parts of the plant.
