The October 17 and March 26 weights on each Hereford, Angus, and Shorthorn bull are at my office. The majority averaged better than two pounds gain per day during this 161 day period. The top Hereford bull gained up to last /Wednesday 379 lbs., while the top Angus put on 397 lbs., (incidentally this is the grandson of Highlands General 44th I wrote about in last week’s News) and the leading Shorthorn gained 456 lbs. Actually none were not on a high concentrate ration but one that really stimulated barrel development and still gave good results.
