Elected in Districts
At a Democratic mass meeting in the county Court House, Wednesday, December 9 at 3 p.m., it was decided
that meetings would be conducted in / the various districts, for the purpose of elceting district committeemen to 'instead of electing the committeemen the County Democratic Committee, at that Mass Meeting.. These district meetings will be held at the various times and places as listed on page two of this issue.
Rappahannock Passes Quota In USO Drive
Reaching a total of $218.50, Rappahannock County met and passed its quota for the USO drive, set at $202. Mrs. W. F. Moffett was chairman of the drive while Mrs. C. T. Bruce acted as treasurer. The district contributions as reported by the district chairman were: Stonewall and Hawthorne, with Miss Dolly Hite, chairman, $45.25; Piedmont with chairman, Mrs. Carroll Menefee, $44.25; Jackson, Mrs. A. C. Latham, chairman, v $10; Wakefield, Mrs. Frank Cary, chairman, contributed $11; and Hampton with Mrs. W. F. Moffett Sr., chairman, $10B.
(Notice has just been received by the News that Stonewall and Hawthorne districts, under Miss Dolly Hite, have received $5 more in contributions, thus bringing their total 1 to $50.25.) _ „
