One familiar thing in our lives, that keeps coming along each year* in a mosit welcome profusion, however, i§ the American boy.
Him we can see all around us. Yet there is between him and the atom, a most remarkable kinship.
Both have a great potential for curing the many ills of mankind— under proper guidance and development. .... ___....
Both have the potential for awesome destruction to our why of life— when misdirected and left in improper hands.
Fortunately our scientists can be trusted to tend to the atom and its relative position in our world.
But the boy is OUR job.
Tomorrow’s trustworthy^ scientists, statesmen, clergymen and rulers are embodied in each and every boy in this land. ,
The Boy Scouts of America * represent the finest crucible in which to bring forth the good, clean manhood we need, if this world, its atoms and its people are to long endure. . Organized in the finest traditions of enlightened patriotism; grounded through the years in a proven practice of-love of fellow man; historically standing as the first successful program of international friendship in its Jamborees . . . .
