Clifton Hill, Jr., a senior at the George Washington Carver Regional High School, is looking forward to becoming successfully established in farming. He is an outstanding fourstanch
New Farmer of America member. Because of his leadership abilities, Clifton often serves in the capacity of advisor in the absence of Mr. Nicholas. Clifton won second place in the State last year for Farm and Home Improvement. This year Jbe will be competing for the Soil and water Management Award, both ^tate and national, and a candidate /for the Modern Farmer Degree. If his farming plans are carried to materialization, he will be a strong candidate for the H. O. Sargent Award in a few years to some.
Gif Ion's supervised farming pro=~ gram include the following: one beef cow; one beef calf; one fat hog; 5a corn; 5a. oats; and 5a. mixed hay along with a number of improvement projects and supplementary farm jobs. However, we can readily see his rapid increase once he has completed his high school education.
1 he underclassmen of the agricultural department and the O. R. John-* son NFA Chapter tip their hats to such fellows as Clifton Hill, Eugene Ferguson, Thomas Carpenter and Adeibert Triplett; who are partly responsible for our chapter being rated second best in the state last year. We are working hard in order that we may be able to take their seats when they have finished.
