Answer Three Calls
Three calls were made this past week. Two calls were made to ex* tinguish a fence fire at the home of Mrs. Holmes Hall at Woodville. At 7:10 a.m. January 28, the company w~' called to the home of E, B. Updike at Peola Mills for a chimney fire. The fires were put out with no damage reported.
Earlier this month four other calls were made. On January 1, a brush fire was extinguished at Buckley’s Store, 2 miles east of Sperryville. While the fire was being extinguished at Buckley’s Store, a second call was placed for a trash and brush fire which threatened H. H. Aylor’s garage and service station. Both fires were put out with no damages. Around noon on the 5th, the company answered a call to Green’s home in Gid Brown Hollow. This colored home was a complete loss. The house was like a torch, being on fire on all sides from top to bottom, on arrival. On the morning of January 13, a call was made to a tenant home of J. W. Fletcher. This was a chimney fire and was bought undercontrol with no damage.
