In Seventh Inning
Sunday afternoon’s game between the Rappahannock County Fire Companies’ Chiefs and the Mt. Jackson A. C.’s was a throwup-with first one team scoring and then the other driving in a run— until rain halted the game in the seventh inning with the pendulum in Mt. Jackson’s favor. Clater and Clark each got 2 hits out of 4 bats while Brown, Settle and Sisk drove in the three runs for the Chiefs. Buckland, of the A.C.’s, with 4 bats, made 2 hits and accounted for 2 runs crossing home plate. Smith was easily the most colorful player of the game, driving several balls out of the field and over George Davis’ home.
