Rappahannock County’s business .was dispensed with in short order, in Wednesday morning’s August meeting of the Board of Supervisors. Supervisors A. C. Latham, E. M. Estes, Henry Wood and chairman J. P. Cook discussed various road problems, heard two cairns and met the new Sanatarian. Supervisor AVt C. Campbell had —been excused.P.
D. Cold iron appeared before the board at the request of the Supervisors to advise them on local road issues. There was discussion on the question brought up by> Estes “to work on the streets in the town of Sperryville.” Supervisor Wood expressed his opinion that any extra money left over from any designated fund, should be used in his district. Further discussion on this matter was tabled until the September meeting, as there was involved the point of whether funds once designated for a specific purpose could be used once the initial purpose was fulfilled, for other work ini that district; for work in another; district, or must they be turneddirectly back into a general fund;
Two claims were presented by C. Ennis Brown, Game Warden, on behalf of G. W. Timber and D. T. Smith. Timbers lost chickens and for this fowl claim was awarded $5.50. Smith’s sheep 'daitn was upheld and compensation was $14.00.
Rappahannock’s Sanitarian, Lowry M. Stoops, expressed his willingness to meet with the supervisors at any future meeting to report on county conditions. _Various smaller matters were under discussion but no new motions were made.
