Reject Sunday “Ban”
On Beer, Wine Sale .
- The Rappahannock Board of Supervisors, in their Wednesday session, rejected the suggested proposal to prohibit the Sunday sale of Beer and Wine as Super—visor W. C. Campbell’s motion to this effect died for lack of a second.
Mr. Campbell proposed an alterernate motion to place a ban on the Sunday sale of wine only. "Supervisor Wood seconded this motion and the vote stood at a 3-3 tie with Estes, Latham and Buckner opposing the ban and Cook, Campbell and Wood supporting the motion. Attorney James W. Fletcher wiU appear at the next meeting to break the tie. 7
Coldiron Presents Budget
P. D. Coldiron, Resident Engineer, presented the road budget for final approval. Campbell made a motion that the budget be approved and Buckner seconded this motion. There was additional discussion on numerous roads in the Supervisor’s respective districts that are badly in need of repair or improvement. A. H. Keyser appeared before the Board and stated that the much traveled 262 could well stand work done on it.-f
W. C. Campbell made the motion that a road in his district, “off 211 near Gibson Wharton’s be included in the State System.” Buckner seconded the motion.
A permanent road viewing board was appointed: D. D. Miller, R. E. Wood, Emory^ Russell, R. E. Doyle aqd Raymond Johnson. :
Smaller Matters Discussed Three sheep claims were heard and accepted: C. E. Brown, $50; W. H. Lyne, $60; John Eckers, $135; and James Massie, $40. Welfare Superintendent Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin introduced the question concerning the burial of (See SUPERVISORS page 5)
