It was agreed by parents oi Washington, Va., that the greatest need of the band was that of the uniforms. After the concert, Mr. Marshall, Funeral Director, gave -suggested means and ways of raising money to purchase uniforms and other needs this year.
Mr. Sampson, Band Director, has great confidence in parents and patrons of the four counties and feels that they will work earnestly in helping the band for such a cause.
It will take the cooperation of all parents, patrons and pupils from the counties to do the task.
The O. R. Johnson NFA Chapter was host to the Northern Virginia Federation when its first meeting was held at the.Carver High School, Thursday night, October 21. The Federation comprise the NFA Chapters of four high schools. Namely: Carver High, Culpeper A. G. Richardson, Louisa; W. C. Taylor, Warrenton; and Johnson-Williams, Berryville. The officers elected for the current year are representatives of the following chapters: President, O. R. Johnson Chapter of Culpeper; Vice-President, Parliamentarian, and Chaplain, Milton Valley of Berryville; Secretary', Historian and Watchman, M. A. Fields Chapter of Louisa ; ' and Treasurer and Reporter, W. C. Taylor Chapter of Warren ton. F. W. Nicholas of Carver High School is Federation Advisor.After
the election of officers, and outstanding program of work was drawn up and adopted. The O. R. Johnson NFA quartette provided special entertainment for the group.
The Carver High School Band got off to a very good start this year. In participation of the Annual Firemen’s Parade in Gordonsville on Labor Day, the band placed second. This makes the
