In observance of his 35 years’ continuous service with the Alexandria National Bank, L. H. Dudley was guest of honor recently at a testimonial dinner attended by bank directors, senior officers and other friends. > _
Highlight of the occasion was the surprise presentation of a large "f silver punch bowl, cups and trayto Vide President Dudley who declared he was “greatly surprised and greatly appreciative” of the - gift from his colleagues.
Born and reared in Rappahan- ^ nock County, Mr. Dudley began— his banking career as a bookeeper with the Rappahannock' National Bank at the age of 16. His father before him, Judge H. M. Dudley had served the bank as cashier.
Following . graduation from Washington High School, Mr. Dudley worked with the Rap- ; pahannock National until January 1919 when he accepted the post ofL_ "Assistant Cashier at the Alexandria National Bank. He has seen continuous service with this banking institution until the present _ date. ..-*
According to an account from a local Alexandria newspaper: “His unbroken service record surpasses that of every other active bank executive in the city.”
Mr. Dudley and his wife reside — in Alexandria. They have one son, E. Waller Dudley, an Alexandria Attorney, and 2 grandchildren.-i—
Mr. Dudley is the nephew of — Mrs. E. W. Brown and a cousin of Mrs. J. Frank Jones, Mrs. C. J. Miller, Mrs. W. C. Campbell, Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh and Mrs. B. R. Cox, ail of Washingr ' ton.
