The Christmas Seal still remains one of the most significant tools in the voluntary fight against tuberculosis, prominent Virginia physicians said recently.
Dr. Carrington Williams, president of the Medical Society of Virginia, stated emphatically, “The Christmas Seal - Sale- is as important today as ever. Physi? ^lans treating tuberculosis now have available drugs and surgical' procedures which are' bringing* about cures thought impossible a few years ago. Ironically, this has extended the hospital stay of the man who several years ago would have vacated his bed by dying. He still has tuberculosis; he still needs treatment—perhaps for a long period of time, and quite often in a hospital.”
