John B. Mijler, of Sperryville, his son-in-law, Hill O’Bannon and Russell Wood received at Luray on Tuesday five loads of stock cattle, 104 in all. They were four v years old and very fine, costing $8,000. These “stock” cattle looked good enough for market on their arrival here; Mr. Miller recently sold 120 cattle from one of his farms for $100 apiece.—-Page News and Courier.
Mrs. R. E. Luttrell and Miss Mayme Latham have just returned home from Richmond. While there they attended the State Fair.
Mrs. Charles King of Alexandria is spending a few days with f ~~her father, MrT E. M. Greene.
RUDACILLE — BEST * Edward Everett Rudacille, a young farmer of Limeton, and Miss Mariah Elizabeth Best of near Ben Venue, were married in Front Royal on October 14, 1913 at the residence of Elder A. L. Harrison in the presence of a few friends. Immediately after the ceremony congratulations were extended- and the happy couple left for Hagerstown and other places. After the twentieth they will be at their home in Limeton.
The lot sale at Sperryville on Monday was largely attended, the prices arranging from $50 up. The lots are on the site of the tan-yard of C. C. Smoots and Sons Co. The double auctioneers were fine. The water right and several acres were purchased by Messrs. J. Jas. Miller and B. W. Hitt, who, it is rumored, will utilize it with a manufacturing plant of some kind. The boiler house, etc. was purchased by Mr. O. L. Dodson. The sale amounted to $8,000. The work on the crossings and sidewalks is still progressing, with more yet to be done. (Sperryville News)
