Mr. and Mrs. E, B. Updike, of Slate Mills, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Phyllis Hope Updike, to A/2c William T. Cooper, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Cooper, of Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Miss Updike received a Secretarial Diploma from Madison College, Harrisonburg, last May. She is presently employed by the United States Information Bureau, Washington, D. C.
