Word comes from Mr. Evans of Ohio that one of the calves purchased at the 1954 Angu* Feeder Calf Sale (which was bred by George G Ramsey of Front Royal) "twined 300 pounds above the purchased weight in 125 days or 2.4 pounds per day. Mr. Evans’ son is preparing the calf for the baby beef show at the Ohio State Fair this fall. Congratulations, Mr. Ramsey!
Mr. Evans, an extensive Angus Breeder himself, wrote (requesting information on the sire and dam of this calf. Had our Angus Association not employed permanent medal ear tags for identification purposes, such information would not be available to ge or give.
