Gore Family Hold Annual Reunion
The Annual Reunion of the Gore Family was held Sunday, June 12 at Jackson Hill, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bruce.
Among the guests were Dr. and Mrs. B. C. Shuler, Dr. and Mrs. James B. Shuler, Mrs. Mattie Hopkins and Dr. and Mrs. J. J, Waff of Shenandoah; Mrs. Bill Campbell of Luray; Mrs. J. R. Kirk of Rixeyville; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kirk of Culpeper; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Blankcnbaker of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hopkins of Amherst William Shuler and children of Arlington. Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Estes,, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Estes; Mr. and Mrs. Field Benton, Mrs. Annie Gore Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. George Taylor, the Rev. and Mrs. John Frizzell and Mrs. Rosa Burton. . The family get-together began years ago when each year at the birthday of Mrs. J. T. Gore, the clan would gather to wish her happiness; Following her death, the family decided to continue the custom of the annual meeting to catch up on how the children were progressing in school and what the grown ups had done during the year.
Last year the family met with the William Shuler family in Arlington. Plans have not yet been made for the 1956 Reunion.
