Mrs. J. R. Frizzell Appointed To Town Council
Mrs. J. R. Frizzell, recently appointed to fill the unexpired council term o'f the late Mr*. J. W. Price, was welcomed by the Town Council in their June meeting held Tuesday night in the Town Hall.
Mrs. Morgan Johnston was asked for a report on the possibility of acquiring an outside mail box, in front of the post office. She reported that Postmaster W. A. Miller had consulted die inspector and he felt that there was not a need for an outside mail t>ox. A suggestion was then made that a box could be put under the slot in the door so the letters would not fall onto the floor. (The council would assume the cost of this box.) Mrs. Johnston will discuss this matter with the postmaster.
Mrs. Johnston also reported that the rest of the town folders order will be off the press Saturday. These folders can be obtained, at no cost, from any place of business in Washington or from a member of the town council.
Various reports were heard and discussed; on the repair of a town bench; the painting of the entrance signs (which has not been completed due to the rainy Saturdays) ; the painting of yellow "no parking” lines in the driveway of Miss Annie Miller Almond; the improving of the road leading up Blue Ridge Avenue; and the repairing of the town television set. ;(As previously reported this set is undergoing complete repair and : overhauling at the expense of the Strombefg-Carlson Company.) .
