killed last Friday afternoon in an automobile accident near Fredericksburg, while returning, with 2 friends, from Colonial Beach.
Funeral services were conducted in Marlow Heights Baptist Church in Front Royal, Monday evening at 2 o’clock, with the Rev. Henry Lee Foster, Jr., of Portsmouth officiating. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Known affectionately to his friends as “Smitty,” young Blakemore was popular with the younger set and had many friends in the county.
Among those who attended the last rites Monday afternoon were Miss Paula Miller, Paul L. Miller and Miss Evelyn Tyler Miller.
Margaret D. Mason
Miss Margaret D. Mason died at a nursing home in Charles Town, West Virginia, Saturday, June 11, after a long period of ill health. She was a daughter of the late William Stephenson and Mrs. Octavia Yates Mason, and spent her earlier years at Woodville, moving to her grandfather’s home in Charles Town on May 1, 1947. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Woodville until it was destroyed by a tornado some years ago. After that she was a member of Emmanuel Church, Sperryville, and sin« moving to her late home she had her membership with the Mt. Zion
