Culpeper Parade :7'f'
An estimate's,8,000 to 9,000 , people gathered on the Culpeper streets Saturday afternoon to view an 80-unit parade, sponsored by the Retail Merchants Association, to introduce the Christmas season.
Three Rappahannock fire de partments, Sperryville, Amissville and Washington, participated in the parade, with Amissville winning second prize in the Fire Departments awards. Warren ton won first prize and Orange, was third place winner; „
The silver trophies in the Civic or Scenic float division were woi* by U. D. C. 1st; Red Cross 2nd and TB Association 3rd. For the Commercial floats, Clore Funeral Home won first I prize; Betty Brown Shop, second; and Judd •Grocery, third. j .
