VV. C. Campbell continued his motion, discussed in a previous meeting, that $1500 be allotted for the equalization of personal property taxes. W. F. Moffett, Commonwealth Attorney, had looked up the legality of such a motion, and found it to be illegal. The equalization of personal property is wholly in the hands of the Commissioner of Revenue. Mr. Campbell withdrew the motion, saying that he regretted the situation that nothing could be done in this manner. Several supervisors supported this belief, citing cases of inequality in the personal property assessment.
A letter was read from the Amissville Volunteer Fire Departement offering the use of their firehouse for county activities. -The offer was accepted.
Wade H. Massie, III, brought a sheep claim before the board. It was upheld and ordered paid.
